Who We Are

Scott Palmer | January 26, 2009 | 7:23 pm

This week at the Gathering we are going to talk about Tech Fellowships vision, core values and etc. I am very excited about this in that we have so many involved that maybe have never heard this information about why we exist as a campus ministry. Its more than just information though and here’s why.
“The value of knowing who we are is bigger than a personal understanding, its about understanding our role and value individually and collectively within the Kingdom of God at this time. There is a large global purpose of God that was in play before us and will continue after us, the fun and adventure comes in hearing from God how we fit into God’s purposes today.
Every assembly of believers (local church, ministry, christian agency, campus ministry, etc.)
has a specific call and vision to fulfill for the King.”

A Quick How-To

zackallen | January 25, 2009 | 9:01 pm

Hey folks!

I just wanted to take a moment to tell those of you who may not be too web savvy about the wonders of RSS.

Last week Scott mentioned that he would be migrating the TF Weekly Update from email to this blog. Pretty cool, huh? Well of course! But it it can also be a problem for some of you. Before, the email always came to your inbox. There it was just waiting patiently for you to open it up and read all of its warm, fuzzy goodness. Well, that isn’t going to happen anymore. You’ll either miss every update or you’ll sit around checking the blog every few hours to see if it has been updated. We don’t think either of these are satisfactory.

So what do you do?

This is where RSS comes into play. Without getting into any technical detail, RSS is basically a way for you to receive automatic updates from your favorite websites or blogs. There are several different ways to receive RSS feesds, but most browsers come with some sort of RSS reader/previewer built in. Below, I’ve provided some links to a few how-to articles about suscribing to RSS feeds in various browsers.

First of all, take a look at the top right hand of the blog. You’ll see “login” and “RSS”. That RSS link is where you want to begin. From there:

If you use Internet Explorer see:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/rss/default.mspx

For Firefox check out:

And for Safari you can read:

I hope this helps save you some frustration. If you have any problems or need a little help figuring something out just post it in the comments or shoot me an email.

stay salty,
>>zack

First Time for Everything

Scott Palmer | January 22, 2009 | 3:56 pm

I hope that you made it to the site okay, I look forward to not only using this as a place for our weekly updates but also to offer input on life issues, biblical truth, tf objectives and passions, etc.
I would love to meet with each one of you once a week, that’s my heart but life does not allow this. If I can use this as a place to ask questions, give thoughts and observations and then receive input from you maybe it will get close to what my heart is. I am thankful for each one of you and the opportunity to get to know you. Being in relationship and community with people gives meaning to our lives.
A few reminders:
Sunday, Jan. 25th FOCUS begins in the tf building at 9:15am.
Monday, Jan 26th Monday Prayer begins for the semester in Doc’s Place at 7am.
the Gathering on Weds. Jan 28th.
Have a great rest of the week and enjoy your weekend. Stay in touch.
